Business Hours

Business Hours tell every app when your company is open: your time zone, your hours each day of the week, and the dates you are closed, such as holidays.

Where to Find Them

Owners and admins open Setup and find the Business Hours card. It shows your hours, your time zone, whether you are open right now, and your next closed dates. Select Change Business Hours to change them (action core.hours.save). Everyone in your company can see them (action core.hours.get), and so can AI agents, which can never change them.

What You Can Set

• Time zone: where your hours are counted, such as America/Los_Angeles. Choose it from the list.
• Hours each day: for each day of the week, an opening and closing time, or Closed. For example, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Monday through Friday.
• Open around the clock: open every hour of every day, except your closed dates.
• Closed dates: days you are closed, each with a name, such as Thanksgiving Day. Add a date with Add a Closed Date, and remove one with Remove. Keep up to 200.

Your company needs at least one open day, unless it is open around the clock.

The Starting Hours

Until you save your own, every company starts with Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific time, closed on the US federal holidays of this year and next year, and the day after Thanksgiving. When your company set a time zone in Helpdesk Settings before Business Hours existed, that time zone is used until you save. The starting hours are not stored; your company's hours are stored only once you save them, exactly as you chose.

Which Apps Use Them

• Helpdesk: replies go out during business hours, and automatic follow-ups count business days and go out only while you are open (Tickets and Replies, Automatic Follow-Ups).
• Chat keeps its own office hours in Chat Settings, so your chat can be staffed at different times.
