MountDev Ops Workspace documentation | Updated October 22, 2026

Team photos give everyone on your team the same polished look: add a photo on Your Profile and the workspace takes out the background, crops it, and sets it on your company's color, so every face is the same size, in the same place, lit the same way.

Our Commitment

MountDev Ops is built security first. Your business data belongs to you, and you can export all of it at any time. We never use analytics or tracking of any kind inside MountDev Ops.

Every update passes all 2,134 automated checks before it ships, plus screen tests on 9 screen sizes for everything it changes.

Adding Your Photo

Open Account, then Your Profile, and find the Team Photo card. Select Add a Photo (or Change Photo), then Choose a Photo: a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC photo of up to 15 MB. A clear photo of you from the shoulders up works best.

While your photo is set up, a bar shows the progress. It takes a few seconds. Then you see your photo the way your team and customers will, square and round, and nothing has changed yet. You choose:

  • Use This Photo: your new team photo, everywhere at once (action core.photo.use).
  • Try Another: choose a different photo.
  • Use My Original Instead: your own photo as it is, cropped square, without the team look. Back to the Team Look returns to it.

If the workspace cannot find a person in the photo, or the background cannot be taken out just then, it says so, and you can try again, try another photo, or use that one as it is.

To go back to your initials, select Take Down (action core.photo.remove). Your photo is kept, and you can add one at any time. Everyone sees only their own photo here (action core.photo.mine); nobody can change someone else's.

How Every Photo Is Set Up

Every photo gets the same steps, so the whole team looks consistent:

  1. The background comes off. The person is found and everything behind them is taken out.
  2. The same crop for everyone. The workspace finds your face and crops a square around it, so every face is the same size in the same place. It looks for faces the same way in dark and bright photos, for every skin tone. Big hair gets room above it, and the face is never made more than a little smaller to fit it. When no face can be found clearly (a profile, or a tilted head), the crop comes from your outline instead: from the top of your hair to where your shoulders begin.
  3. Black and white, the same for every skin tone. The photo is turned to black and white with the standard weights for each color, and a gentle lift brings out detail in darker and in brighter skin alike. Your skin is never made lighter or darker: the middle tone of your face moves by no more than 4 steps out of 255, nothing turns pure black or pure white, and the person is never brightened to stand out.
  4. Soft edges. The edge of the cutout is softened over a few pixels instead of being trimmed, so curly, coily, and fine hair keeps its shape. Where the original photo cut you off (the top of your hair, or your head at its side), the crop moves toward the photo so your head and hair sit inside the circle when the photo allows it, and whatever is still cut fades out softly instead of ending in a straight line. Every photo fades out at the bottom the same way.
  5. Your company's color. The photo is set on your company's brand color, with a very soft light glow behind the head and a faint light edge around you, so dark hair and dark clothing still stand out from a dark background.

Three versions are made, each 1000 by 1000 pixels: the cutout with a see-through background, the square on your company's color, and the round photo with see-through corners.

Your Company's Color

Owners and admins set the color on Settings, Company, Change Company Details, under Brand color: your darker brand color, like #192a3d. Until you set one, your email header color is used (Email Template and Signatures). Photos added from then on use the new color; anyone can add theirs again to change it.

Where Your Photo Shows

Your photo shows beside your name wherever the workspace shows your team: on Helpdesk tickets (your replies and notes, replies waiting to send, and who a ticket is assigned to), and on your replies to customers. Customers' own messages always show their initials. The screens find everyone's current photo in one list (action core.people.photos), which shows only people whose access is on.

Each person's photo has one public address that never changes, even when they choose a new photo, so it can show in emails and on your website. It names your company and a random key, never the person. Browsers keep a copy for up to an hour, so a new photo shows everywhere within an hour. Looking at a photo is never counted, recorded, or tracked.

What Is Kept

Nothing is ever deleted. Your photo as you uploaded it and every version made from it are kept, encrypted with your company's own key like every file. A photo you replaced or took down stays stored. Choosing and taking down a photo are written in the Activity Log.
