I need a DNS change made and would rather not risk it

Ask in your portal. We take a copy of the entire zone first, make the change, and check it does what it should. If it breaks, the copy goes back in seconds. See Managed DNS.

Nobody here knows what half our DNS records do

Your portal shows every record as it stands, with the history of what changed and when. Records pointing at services you stopped using can be removed on request. See Managed DNS.

Defaults are safe but generic. We set the firewall, bot protection, rate limiting, caching, and SSL around how your site is used, then compare nine settings with ours each morning. See Edge Protection.

We are moving to Cloudflare and worried about mail

Records are copied across and verified before the nameservers change, so nothing is guessed at. Email records are set up correctly as part of it. See Managed DNS.

A Cloudflare setting changed and nobody admits to it

Drift is caught the next morning. We open a ticket naming the setting and, when the change was not yours, put it back. See Edge Protection.

What do you do first?

We read the zone from top to bottom and write down what each record does. Nothing changes until you approve it. Your portal login follows within two business days.

Must my DNS be on Cloudflare?

We work on Cloudflare. If yours is elsewhere, we move it first, copying the records across and verifying them before the nameservers change.

Can I still edit records myself?

You keep control of your own account. Most clients prefer to ask, since each request gets a copy of the zone beforehand and a record of what it was.

How fast are changes made?

Within two business days of your request.

Is Domain Management live?

Not yet. It is listed as coming soon at $9 a domain, and it joins Domain Pro when it launches. Buying and renewing domains through us waits on Cloudflare opening its registrar API.

What do you need from me?

Access to your Cloudflare account, usually an invitation you can withdraw at any time, plus a note of anything that must not be touched. Nothing is installed on your website.

What if I leave?

The zone, the domains, and your Cloudflare account were yours all along. There is no exit fee.

What shows up in my report?

Records we changed and why, anything that moved without us, and the daily checks, written without jargon.
