MountDev Ops Workspace documentation | Updated November 4, 2026
Bring every folder and file in a Zoho WorkDrive into your own Files, once, and check that all of it arrived. It is for owners, it only reads from Zoho, and nothing in WorkDrive is ever changed or deleted. It is on Files, Settings (the Import From Zoho WorkDrive card), and a company's Zoho Desk tickets have their own Import From Zoho Desk.
Before You Start
- Make a Zoho client, once, in the Zoho API Console (api-console.zoho.com): Add Client, then Self Client.
- Under Generate Code, ask for these read-only scopes:
WorkDrive.team.READ,WorkDrive.workspace.READ,WorkDrive.files.READ, andWorkDrive.user.READ. Zoho gives a code; trade it for a refresh token (it starts with1000.). - In Settings, Connections, Connected Services, choose Zoho WorkDrive (Connections) and save the Client ID, the Client secret, the Refresh token, and the Data center (com, eu, in, com.au, jp, or ca). The two secrets are stored encrypted and never shown again. Check Now says whether Zoho accepts the key.
Bringing Files Over
Choose Start (action core.zoho.files.start). First WorkDrive is listed, a page at a time: every workspace, every folder, every file. Then each file is brought into Files, piece by piece, each piece checked, in a folder tree under From WorkDrive that matches where it was. Nothing waits on you; it runs a little at a time in the background, so people using the workspace are never slowed. Pause (action core.zoho.files.pause) and Carry On (action core.zoho.files.resume) stop and restart it.
- Folders to leave out: one path per line, starting with the WorkDrive workspace (for example
Client Files/Personal). Nothing in a folder left out is listed or brought over. Start again without the line to bring it in later. - Once only: each file is kept by its WorkDrive id, so a file already in Files (from an earlier move or an earlier run) is never brought twice. A file you deleted in Files is never brought back. A file changed in WorkDrive since comes in as its newer copy, and the earlier copy stays beside it, renamed.
- Zoho documents (Writer, Sheet, and Show files) come as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files, or PDF when Zoho will not convert them.
- Where it lands: a new file is attached to the same records as the other files in its folder (only records that every one of them is attached to). No file is copied to attach it.
- Quiet: no notices, emails, webhooks, or automations run, and each file is one line in the Activity Log.
- Empty folders are made too, so the folders match.
- When Zoho slows down or cannot be reached, the move waits and carries on by itself; the card says so in a sentence.
Checking It
Check (action core.zoho.files.validate) lists WorkDrive again and compares it with Files. The report has counts and WorkDrive ids only, never a file name, a folder name, or any content:
- Folders and files WorkDrive has, how many are in Files, and how many are missing, with the missing ids and the reason for each.
- The total size WorkDrive holds and the total size in Files, and the ids of any file whose size differs.
- Checksums: the SHA-256 taken as each file came over, compared with the file Files holds now, and the ids of any that differ. WorkDrive does not publish its own checksum, so this proves the stored file is the one that came over.
- Files you deleted in Files are listed apart and never counted as missing.
Reports are kept; the card shows the latest.
Trying the Missing Again
A file that cannot be brought over is tried again after one minute, five, thirty, two hours, and twelve, then waits. Retry Missing (action core.zoho.files.retry) starts every missing file over at once. Repeat Check and Retry Missing until the report says it is clean.
Sorting into the Standard Folder Layout
Once the check is clean, Sort Into the Standard Layout (action core.zoho.files.layout) sorts the folders that came over into the same layout every company gets: Clients/<Company>/General, Projects, Proposals, Meetings, and Websites, and Unsorted for the rest. A folder belongs to a company or record when every file in it is attached to it. Nothing is copied: folders change place, a second folder for the same record has its files moved into the first, and empty leftovers go. Who can see a folder never changes (a private folder keeps everything in it). A folder it placed is never moved again, so your own later moves and names stay. It is safe to run again.
The Status
Status (action core.zoho.files.status) is what the card reads: the state of the move, counts of folders and files (listed, here, waiting, missing, left out), the reasons for anything missing, the latest report, and how the layout is going.
What It Never Does
- It never changes, moves, or deletes anything in Zoho. Take a full WorkDrive download from Zoho yourself, and keep it, before you end your Zoho subscription.
- It never sends anything to anyone, and it stays inside your own workspace and region.
- It is never for AI agents or API keys, and only an owner can start any of it.
