MountDev Ops Workspace documentation | Updated October 7, 2026
Search finds records in every app your company has added, all at once, and shows only what you are allowed to see.
Our Commitment
MountDev Ops is built security first. Your business data belongs to you, and you can export all of it at any time. We never use analytics or tracking of any kind inside MountDev Ops.
Opening Search
Select the search button at the top of the menu, beside your name. It sits just left of the sign-out button, and stays there when the menu is collapsed and on phones. Search opens over the page with the cursor in the search box.
Close it with the X beside the box, with Esc, or by selecting anywhere outside the results. Opening a result closes it too.
Searching
Type at least 2 letters. Search waits until you pause typing, then shows a thin loading bar at the top of the page while it looks. The box moves up and the results appear under it, grouped by app and module, each group with its icon and how many records match:
- The record's name, for example a company's name or a ticket's subject.
- What matched: the field that holds your words and a short piece of its value, with your words in bold. When the name itself matched, only the name shows.
In each group, records whose name starts with your words come first, then records whose name holds them, then the newest. Each group shows up to 5 records. If nothing matches, Search says so.
Select a result (or press Enter for the first one) to open the record in place. The page does not reload.
What Is Searched
- Every app you have added: CRM companies, contacts, deals, leads, websites, tasks, and activities; Helpdesk tickets; Projects and their tasks; Forms submissions; Chat conversations; Files folders; Partners, referrals, payouts, and commissions; Proposals; Billing records; and your company's own modules. An app added later is searched as soon as it is added.
- Messages show their conversation: words found in a Helpdesk message open its ticket, and words found in a chat message open its conversation. Invoice and subscription lines open their invoice or subscription, and a proposal's versions and responses open the proposal.
- File names: a file on any record you can see, under Files. Selecting it opens the record the file belongs to.
- Values only: names, text, email addresses, phone numbers, web addresses, choices, and numbers. Field names, dates, and links between records are not searched, and neither are fields or modules that are turned off.
Who Sees What
Search shows exactly what your record lists show you, and nothing more:
- Owners and admins find every record.
- Members find only the records their role in each app lets them see (Roles). A member who sees only their own records finds only their own records, and the counts leave out the rest.
- App rules apply too. For example, Helpdesk's admin-only and spam tickets, and their messages, appear only for people who may see them.
- Prices and amounts (money fields, such as a deal's amount or a product's price) are searched and shown only to owners and admins (permission
core.view_pricing). An app may use its own pricing permission instead: Proposals' prices and Price Lines follow See and set prices on proposals and Price Lines. Everyone else never finds a record by its price, and no amount appears in their results. - Your company only. Search runs in your company's own database. It never finds another company's records, and nothing about your searches leaves your workspace.
For AI Agents
A connected AI agent can search the same way (action core.search), with the words and, if it likes, how many matches per module it wants (1 to 20). The agent acts as the person who connected it, so it finds only what that person may see, and prices only if that person may see them. Searching never changes anything.
