What Tiers Are

Tiers are the levels of your partner program. Each tier has a name, a rank (higher is better), the program it is for (or any program), commission rates (a percent of recurring work, a percent of project work, and for how many months), a discount, what a partner needs to reach it, how many days a partner keeps it after falling below, its perks, and whether its partners may brand what their clients see (White Label). Tiers are records in the Tiers module, listed on the Tiers page in Partners.

How a Tier Counts in Commission

A partner earns their own rate when one is set on their record, else their tier's, else (for an Affiliate) the program's defaults from Partners Settings, one rate at a time. So a partner's tier counts in every commission, statement, and set of terms. A partner who is approved while in a tier gets no default rates written on them, so the tier's rates apply.

The Tiers Page

The page (action partners.tiers.list) shows every tier, best first, with its rates, discount, how partners reach it, perks, whether it includes white label, and how many partners are in it, and every approved or paused partner with their tier, whether it is set by hand or automatically, their active clients and client revenue over 12 months, and whether they have rates of their own.

  • Add Tier and Edit (action partners.tier.save) add or change a tier. Every number is checked, and a tier reached by clients or revenue needs that number.
  • Set Tier (action partners.tier.assign) puts a partner in a tier, or none, by hand or automatically. Use the tier's rates clears the partner's own rates and sets the tier's discount, so the tier's rates apply.
  • Check Tiers Now (action partners.tiers.run) checks every partner set to Automatic at once. The daily run checks them every morning.

Automatic Tiers

A tier can be reached three ways: Set by hand (never chosen automatically), A number of active clients (client companies with a qualified referral from the partner that are Active in CRM), or Client revenue over 12 months (what those companies paid in the last 365 days).

A partner set to Automatic moves up to the best tier they reach as soon as it is checked. When they fall below their tier, they keep it for the tier's days kept after falling below, then move to the best tier they still reach (or none). A discount that was the old tier's moves with them; a discount set by hand stays. A partner sees their tier, its perks, and what the next tier needs on their partner page.

For AI Agents

AI agents can read the Tiers page (partners.tiers.list). They cannot add or change tiers, set a partner's tier, or check tiers: tiers decide what partners earn.
