Our Commitment

MountDev Ops is built security first. Your business data belongs to you, and you can export all of it at any time. We never use analytics or tracking of any kind inside MountDev Ops.

What Partners Is

Partners runs your partner program: the affiliates and partners who send you clients, the link and code each one shares, which client companies each one brought in, and the commission they earn. It starts with the modules below, and every one of them can be changed, turned off, or deleted in Setup, the same as any module (Modules and Fields). Adding Partners adds CRM too, because partners and referrals link to CRM companies and contacts. Add Billing as well so commission is earned when your clients pay their invoices.

There are two types of partner, and both get commission rules, monthly statements, and their own page:

  • Affiliate: refers people through their link or code and earns commission. An affiliate never sees anything about the clients they referred beyond the business name and whether the referral counted. Affiliates can apply from a public page you open in Partners Settings.
  • Partner: resells your services or works with the clients they bring, optionally under their own brand (white label). A partner also sees the names of the client companies they brought in.

Starting Modules

  • Partners: name, type (Affiliate or Partner), status (Applied, Approved, Paused, Ended, or Declined), email, contact name, company (a CRM company), website, program (Referral, Reseller, or White Label), link code, commission percent, commission months, project commission percent, a flat amount on the first paid invoice, a flat amount per paid invoice, tier, discount percent, when they were approved and ended, when the agreement was signed, brand name, the message they applied with, and notes.
  • Referrals: name, partner, company and contact (from CRM), email, business, source (Link, Signup, Registered, or Manual), status (Pending, Qualified, Rejected, or Expired), the reason it was turned down or expired, the first click, when it was credited, the client's first payment, when commission ends, and a note.
  • Payouts: name, partner, month, amount, status (Pending, Paid, or Failed), when it was paid, how, and a reference.
  • Commissions: name, partner, referral, kind (Percent, Flat, or Reversal), status (Pending, Cleared, Paid, or Reversed), amount, the commissionable amount, percent, invoice, payment, when it was earned, cleared, and paid, the payout it is in, and a note.

How It Works

  1. Partners and Their Page: approving partners, their invite, and the page each partner sees under Account, Partner.
  2. Links, Signups, and Referrals: how clicks and signups are counted and credited, and which referrals count.
  3. Commission, Payouts, and Statements: the commission rules, when commission is earned and taken back, payouts, and the monthly statement.
  4. Partners Settings: the program name, landing page, rules, and the affiliate application page.

What Partners Reads from Other Apps

Partners only reads CRM and Billing; it never changes them.

  • CRM: companies, contacts, websites, and deals, to link a referral to the company and contact it became, and to turn down people who were already in your CRM before the referral.
  • Billing: invoices, invoice lines, products, and payments. Commission is earned on payments of invoices Billing has marked Paid, and taken back when a payment fails or is refunded.

Privacy

A link click keeps the partner, the time, the page path (never a query string, which could carry someone's details), the site the visitor came from (again without a query string), the visitor's country, and a scrambled form (a hash) of their internet address. The address itself never reaches your workspace; the hash is only used to count one visit per person and to hold back anyone sending too many requests.
