Your Calendars
Your Calendars is on Your Profile (the Account menu), for everyone with Meetings (action meetings.calendars.get). It has two parts: the calendars that keep bookings away from your busy times, and a private link that puts your own meetings in your calendar app.
Calendars That Show When You Are Busy
Add a read-only link to each calendar that should keep bookings away (action meetings.calendars.add). You can add up to 10. Each provider has short steps in the Add dialog:
- Google Calendar: in Google Calendar on a computer, the calendar's Settings and sharing, Integrate calendar, and its Secret address in iCal format.
- Outlook or Microsoft 365 (including Outlook.com): in Outlook on the web, Settings, Calendar, Shared calendars, Publish a calendar with Can view when I'm busy, and its ICS link.
- Apple iCloud: in the Calendar app, the calendar's info, Public Calendar, and Share Link (it starts with webcal://).
- Another calendar: any private iCal (.ics) address that starts with https:// or webcal://.
What happens to a link:
- It is read once as you add it, so a wrong link is refused right away with what to fix.
- It is a secret: it is encrypted with your company's own key when you save it, never written in a log, and never shown again, to you or anyone. The card shows only the provider and its web host.
- Only busy start and end times are kept, never a title, a description, a place, or who is in an event. Recurring events, time zones (including Outlook's), and all-day events count properly. Events marked free, canceled events, and Outlook's free time do not count; tentative ones do.
- Your own MountDev Ops meetings in that calendar (from your meetings link below, or an invitation you added) are recognized and not counted twice.
- It is read again every 5 minutes, and once more right before anyone books you, so a time you just filled is never offered.
- Last read shows when it was last read. A link that fails three times in a row is marked Not Working with the reason, its last busy times still count, and you are told once on your bell. Read Now tries at once (action
meetings.calendars.refresh). - Take Away stops it counting at once and wipes its saved link (action
meetings.calendars.remove).
Nobody else sees or changes your links. Bookings land in your calendar through your meetings link below, not by writing into your calendar.
Your Meetings in Your Own Calendar
Your private link is a calendar of your own meetings and bookings (those you own and those you are a team attendee of), for Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar:
- Copy copies it. Add to Apple Calendar adds it on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac in one tap. Steps for Google and Outlook shows where to paste it.
- It shows only each meeting's time, a title (Meeting, Meeting with the client's company, or Busy, as your company chooses in Meetings Settings), "MountDev Ops" as the place, and a link back to the meeting in the workspace, which needs your sign-in. Never notes, the agenda, attendees, phone numbers, the join link, or anything from a recording or transcript.
- Changes and cancellations update in your calendar app (canceled meetings show as canceled for 30 days, then drop off).
- Keep it to yourself. Reset Link makes a new link and the old one stops working at once (action
meetings.calendars.reset).
Your calendar app decides how often it reads the link (Google Calendar every few hours, Apple Calendar and Outlook more often).
