Uploading
On a meeting's page, Upload Recording adds the meeting's recording: video (MP4, WebM, and others) or sound (MP3, M4A, WAV, and others), up to 10 GB. Upload Transcript adds its transcript as a WebVTT (.vtt), SRT (.srt), or text file. You can also drop files on the card. Each file shows a bar while it uploads, which fills only when the file is stored. Large recordings go up a piece at a time, so a slow connection never has to start over.
Recordings and transcripts are files on the meeting, kept by your workspace's one file service (Files on Records). They are encrypted with your company's own key before they are stored (How Your Files Are Encrypted). Any other file, such as slides or a brief, can be added to the same card.
A meeting held by video and recorded gets its recording here by itself after the meeting (Video Meetings).
Watching a Recording
The recording plays right on the meeting's page, and you can jump to any point without downloading the whole file. A meeting with more than one recording has a list to choose which one plays. A recording in a format your browser cannot play (some .mov files, for example) offers a download instead.
Reading the Transcript
Select Open Transcript to read it beside the recording (below it on phones). Each line shows its time and who was speaking. Select a line to jump the recording to that moment; while the recording plays, the line being spoken is highlighted. A text transcript without times shows as it was written. A very long transcript (over 5 MB) is offered as a download instead.
The transcript is read in your own browser from the file you just opened. Nothing else reads it.
Every Play and Download Is Logged
Starting a recording, opening a transcript, and downloading either one are each written in your company's Activity Log, with who opened which file from which meeting, and when. A recording that is paused and played again, or skipped ahead, is the same play.
Who Can Open Them
Whoever may see a meeting may play its recordings and read its transcripts; whoever may change it may upload, rename, and delete them. Files are opened only by people signed in to your workspace. No AI agent can open, play, download, or upload a recording or transcript; an agent sees only their names and sizes.
Automatic Transcription Planned
Making a transcript from a recording automatically is planned. Until then, upload the transcript your meeting tool makes (most can save one as WebVTT, SRT, or text).
