A Subscription's Lines
A subscription's page lists its lines (its Subscription Items) in one card, in the order they were added. Each line shows its product, the websites it covers, its quantity and price, whether it was billed and through which month, and whether it is Running, Ends on a day, Ended, or Starts on a day. Choose a line's name to open it. Owners and admins see this card with End Service and Remove (permission subscriptions.lines, action subscriptions.lines.list); everyone else sees the plain list of the line records, with what their role lets them change.
A line covers the website set in its Website field. A line brought in from another system may name its websites in its Details instead, the way the invoice printed them ("Related Websites: example.com, example.org"); those websites are shown the same way.
A Price Until a Date
A line can keep its price until a day and then bill another: set its Price until, and its Price after, or leave Price after empty to bill the product's price from then on (an existing client's discount for a year, for example). Invoices issued on or before the Price until day bill the line's own Unit price; invoices issued after it bill the later price. The subscription's page says so on the line, like "Discounted until Dec 31, 2027, then $125.00", and after the day it shows the price it bills now. A line split off another one with End Service keeps the same Price until and Price after. A resold or white-label client's lines are billed at the product's list price, as always, so the date does not change them.
End Service
End Service on a line (action subscriptions.lines.end) sets the day its service ends, today or later. Service runs through that day. Before anything changes, the pop up shows What Happens:
- The line is billed through the month it ends in, and nothing after. The monthly run bills each month ahead on the 1st, so the month the line ends in is billed as usual; from the next month on, it is not billed. Nothing is prorated or refunded. A line on a yearly subscription is not billed again after its end date. This is the same rule as an End date set any other way (The Monthly Run, "End dates").
- When it is the last line still running, the subscription gets the same end date.
- When a draft invoice for a later month was already made with this line, the pop up says so: make that month's drafts again on the Monthly Run page to take the line off.
A line already ending shows Change End, to choose another day, today or later. A line that has ended cannot be changed here. Nothing is deleted: the line keeps its history, and the change shows in it.
Ending for Only Some Websites
When a line covers several websites, one unit for each (a Maintenance line for four websites at a quantity of 4), choose Only some websites and tick the websites that end. The line is split:
- Each website that ends gets a line of its own: the same product, price, discount, and start date, a quantity of 1, its Website set (when the website is one of the company's), and the end date.
- The original line keeps the websites that stay: its quantity goes down by one for each website that ends, and its Details name only the websites that stay.
So the websites that stay are billed as before, and the websites that end are billed through the month they end in. A line that is not priced one unit per website can only end as a whole.
Remove
Remove (action subscriptions.lines.remove) deletes a line that was never on an invoice, after you confirm it. It is offered only for such a line: a line that was billed here, that came from another system where it was billed, or that already has an end date (a line split off another one was billed as part of it) stays, and is ended instead. The line's history is kept.
Who Can
Owners and admins. AI agents and API keys cannot end or remove lines, because that changes what a client is billed.
