Our Commitment

MountDev Ops is built security first. Your business data belongs to you, and you can export all of it at any time. We never use analytics or tracking of any kind inside MountDev Ops.

What Proposals Is

Proposals is where you write proposals and get them accepted. You build each one from your sections library and your products and prices, send it to your client as a private link, see when they open it, and they accept or decline it online, with no sign-in. It starts with the modules below, and every one of them can be changed, turned off, or deleted in Setup, the same as any module (Modules and Fields).

Proposals works on its own. It connects to your other apps when you have them:

  • CRM: a proposal links to a deal, a company, and a contact. A proposal started from a deal fills in its client from the deal, it shows on the deal's timeline, and when the client answers, the deal can move to its won or lost stage.
  • Billing: proposals use Billing's Products for names and prices. Without Billing, they use Proposals' own Price Lines.
  • Contracts: Proposals and Contracts are two separate apps and two separate processes. When the Contracts app is added, an accepted proposal can start a contract.

Starting Modules

  • Proposals: title, number, status (Draft, Sent, Viewed, Accepted, Declined, Expired, or Withdrawn), client name, client email, client company, valid until, when it was sent, first and last viewed, views, when and by whom it was answered, the current version, notes, and, with CRM, its deal, company, and contact. Proposals keeps the status, number, and dates up to date itself; people change a proposal on its own page, and may change its notes and CRM links on the record.
  • Versions: each version of each proposal: name, proposal, version number, status (Draft, Sent, Superseded, Accepted, Declined, Expired, or Withdrawn), the document, its one-time, weekly, monthly, and yearly totals, when and to whom it was sent, and its fingerprint. A version is frozen once it is sent. Versions hold prices, so they are hidden from people without the pricing permission (below).
  • Responses: each client's answer: name, proposal, version, answer (Accepted or Declined), email, title, when, IP address, browser, version number, fingerprint, the reason given for declining, the add-ons chosen, and the wording they agreed to. A response is never changed after it is made.
  • Sections: your sections library (Sections, Products, and Prices).
  • Price Lines: your prices, for companies without Billing (Sections, Products, and Prices). Hidden from people without the pricing permission.

Who Can Do What

  • Write proposals (permission proposals.work: owners, admins, and members): start proposals, change drafts, start new versions, and delete drafts never sent.
  • Send proposals (permission proposals.send: owners and admins): send, undo sending, withdraw, and start contracts.
  • Pricing (permission proposals.pricing: owners and admins, and anyone with Billing's billing.manage): see and set prices. Everyone else sees proposals without any prices or totals: on screen, in previews, in PDFs, and through AI agents. They can still change a draft's sections, lines, and quantities; the prices stay as they were.
  • Proposal Settings (permission proposals.manage: owners and admins).
  • Which proposals each person sees follows their role in Proposals (Roles).

Using Proposals

For AI Agents

AI agents can see proposals and the catalog, start proposals, change drafts, and start new versions, as the person who connected them, with the same checks (proposals.list, proposals.get, proposals.catalog, proposals.create, proposals.draft.save, proposals.revise, and proposals.settings.get). They never send, undo, or withdraw a proposal (nothing emails a client without a person), never delete one, never change Proposal Settings, and never see prices unless their person may.
