Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- If the monthly run or a scheduled charge does not finish, owners and admins are now told right away on Run Billing, on the bell, and by email, with counts only: how many invoices were made, charged, not charged, and failed.
- When Live Billing is off on the 1st, or a client has Billing Active off, the run now says so instead of billing no one quietly.
- Run Billing shows the invoices that are due and were not charged. Owners can choose Charge Now on one, or select several. Nothing is charged until an owner chooses it, and an invoice is never charged twice.
- Charge Now is for owners only.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Payment methods, in Billing Settings: Bank account, with a card as backup (as before), or Bank account or card. With Bank account or card, a client links at least one: a card alone is their payment method, and with both the bank account is charged first and the card is its backup.
- A card alone is charged once per invoice through the same one payment per invoice as a bank account, and a declined card is never tried again on its own. Removing the bank account while a card is saved keeps services running; removing the last payment method says services end at the end of the month.
- The client's Billing page, billing setup at sign-in, the invoice page, and a proposal's payment at acceptance offer a card where you take one.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Nonpayment, on Invoices' Settings page: what happens while an invoice stays unpaid, all automatic. Reminders a few days before the due date (a client charged automatically hears the day it will be charged), on the due date, and after it, then a last reminder.
- Pause Services (off until you turn it on): a friendly note the day before, then services pause on your day (14 days at first), and paying starts everything again on its own. Paid in full, the client hears at once that everything runs again.
- Remove Website Hosting (off until you turn it on): reminders with the date to pay by (21 and 28 days at first), then a note the day hosting ends (day 30). A copy of the website is available to the client once the balance is paid, and its download stays locked until then.
- Every nonpayment email is friendly and generic, leads with Pay Now, offers help, links to your Terms of Service for what happens and when, uses your own email template, goes to the client's billing contacts (or its authorized contacts when there are none), never to former contacts or anyone on Do Not Contact, and is on the client's timeline in CRM. No email mentions collections.
- Each step happens once per invoice. Nothing goes while a bank payment is clearing, for a disputed invoice, or for a client with Hold Collections on. An invoice's page shows its next step, which you can skip, and owners and admins get one notice a day of who was reminded, paused, and resumed.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Invoices from your previous billing system can be paid from your customers' Billing page, in exactly one place: the previous system is checked first, the invoice opens to pay for 15 minutes for exactly what both show owed, and nothing is charged when that system cannot be reached.
- Payments the previous system already took are copied onto the invoice once, with no receipt sent, and each payment taken here is listed for your connection to record there, so it is never collected twice.
- An imported invoice is never charged here on its own, by Charge Now, or on its page without that check.
- Your connection can copy the previous system's payments onto every open imported invoice, and take them over for good when you stop using that system: from then each is an ordinary invoice, paid on its page with no check.
- One charge per invoice: only one payment can be in progress for an invoice at a time, each attempt has its own key with Stripe, and a bank payment that is clearing counts as in progress, so a retry, a second run, or Pay pressed twice never charges anyone twice.
- A bank payment that comes back is never tried again on its own, not even on the backup card. Your owners and admins are asked to talk with the customer first, then a person chooses Charge Now.
- Billed once: an invoice that would bill the same subscription line, monthly invoice, proposal payment, or late fee as another one is refused when finalized, and the month's run leaves an already billed line off its draft.
- The daily check compares your Stripe payments with your invoices and gives your owners and admins one alert for a customer charged twice, or a payment without exactly one invoice. Customers are never emailed about it.
- Billing Accounts keep the day the bank account and backup card were added, and the day a bank account was removed. The invoice PDF opens in place, and downloads with Download PDF.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Invoices, receipts, upcoming and past due notices, and failed payment notices go out to your clients during your business hours. Notices to your team still go at once.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Revenue by Product, in Invoices' menu: what you invoiced each month by product and by product category, with the trend, totals, a range of months, a category filter, and a CSV download.
- A product's category is its Category in Subscriptions' Products, so group your products however you like, such as Extensions, Hosting, or Support. Test accounts are never counted.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Also update existing invoices: when you change your Company Code or a start in Billing Settings, drafts and invoices never sent can take the new start, keeping their digits.
- Issued invoices and late fees (open, paid, void, or uncollectible, or ever sent or paid) keep their numbers unless you check Include issued invoices, which warns you first.
- Each invoice keeps its old number, which search and links still find, and a proposal payment is invoiced only once even if the proposal's number changed.
- Invoice and late fee numbers are your company's own: they follow your Company Code in Settings, Numbering (ACMEI- and ACMELF- with the code ACME), or start with INV- and LF- with no code.
- Billing Settings has Invoice numbers start with and Late fee numbers start with, for starts of your own, and shows the next number of each.
- Each continues after the highest number already used with its start, imported invoices included, so none is ever used twice.
- Invoice Details, on Invoices' Settings page: your own Sender Name, Account Link, Invoice Notes, and Invoice Terms, shown on every invoice page, PDF, and billing email.
- Until you write your own, they are built from your company's name, email, phone, and website in Settings, so every invoice speaks for your company from the start.
- Settings, Import brings Invoice Details in from another system, filling in only what you have not written yourself.
- A payment of a proposal your client signed is sent and charged even while their Billing Active is off, because they agreed to pay it when signing. Live Billing and Stripe are still needed, and every other invoice for that client still waits for Billing Active.
- Monthly invoices, in Billing Settings: make drafts for you to review (the default), or send them automatically on the 1st.
- Sent automatically, every monthly invoice is checked first. One that changed by more than 20 percent or $100 from the last monthly amount, has nothing to bill, has no billing email, or may bill a month already billed waits as a draft, and owners and admins are told why.
- Invoices charge only customers with a saved bank account. Everyone else gets the invoice by email and pays it on the invoice page.
- Billing Accounts can keep the last monthly amount a client paid before moving here, so the first invoice here is checked against it.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Get paid with your own Stripe account: connect Stripe in Settings, Connections, Connected Services, and Invoices charges your customers' saved bank accounts, with a backup card when the bank refuses.
- Every invoice has a private page for your customer: see it, download the PDF, pay by bank account or card, and save a bank account for automatic payments. Invoice emails link there.
- Stripe tells Invoices about every payment as it happens: paid, clearing, or a bank payment that came back.
- When a customer saves a bank account while billing is off for them, owners and admins are told on Run Billing and by email, so a person can turn billing on.
- Invoices has its own Settings page, the last item of its menu: Billing Settings, Payments With Stripe, and Invoices' modules, fields, and roles.
- No more weekly time invoices. Work is billed from the proposal your client approved: an accepted proposal makes its invoice draft for you to review. Weekly time invoices already made are kept as they are and get no late fees.
- Billing Active turns on only when a person turns it on in Run Billing. When a client adds a bank account, the owner and admins are told to stop the client's Zoho Books recurring invoice first.
- Late fees never go on the invoices of a client with No Late Fees on, such as a vendor you send commission invoices to.
- Billing Active: clients move to Billing one at a time. Only a client with Billing Active on gets invoices, emails, charges, and late fees here.
- When a client adds a bank account in the client portal, the Cascadia hub stops their Zoho Books recurring invoices and turns Billing Active on, starting with the first month Zoho has not billed.
- Turn Billing Active on or off for a client in Run Billing. Every change shows in the record history and the Activity Log, and turning it off deletes nothing.
- Billing is now two apps: Invoices (invoices, payments, late fees, weekly time, and Billing Accounts) and Subscriptions (products, subscriptions, usage, and the monthly run). Every record is kept as it was.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Billing screens: run the month, review and finalize drafts, charge, record payments, and see every email.
- Finalized invoices appear in the client portal and are charged with the client's saved card or bank account. Payments, including bank payments clearing or coming back, come back every hour.
- Website usage and weekly billable time come in from the Cascadia hub, so usage and time invoices are made for you.
- Clients hear from you a week and a day before each monthly invoice, get gentle reminders while an invoice is unpaid, and a final notice before collections.
- Issue Automatically: with it on, the drafts are finalized and charged on their day without waiting for you.
- Billing makes your monthly invoice drafts on the 1st, from your subscriptions and last month's website usage, with partner clients on one invoice to their partner.
- Late fee drafts are made each day an unpaid invoice reaches a late charge.
- Finalize an invoice to number it and email it to the client's billing contacts. Record payments, void invoices, and send receipts.
- Billing Settings: nothing is numbered, emailed, or charged a late fee until you turn on Live Billing.

Fixes and Behind-The-Scenes Changes
- Billing: new Partners, Billing Accounts, and Usage Months modules, so each client's billing setup, partner, and monthly website usage live in Billing.
- Invoices and payments gain the fields that monthly, weekly time, and late fee invoices need.
- Billing: products, subscriptions, invoices, and payments, linked to your CRM companies and websites.
