Our Commitment
MountDev Ops is built security first. Your business data belongs to you, and you can export all of it at any time. We never use analytics or tracking of any kind inside MountDev Ops.
Every update passes all 2,069 automated checks before it ships, plus screen tests on 9 screen sizes for everything it changes.
Tested Every Release
All 22 of Channels's own automated checks run on every update, plus 9 screen tests whenever Channels's screens change.
What they cover: Live chat | Import and export | Roles and permissions | Projects and tasks
What Channels Is
Channels is your team's own chat. It opens in the Chat window from the chat button at the bottom of the menu, on any screen, and stays open beside your work. Your team talks in:
- Team channels: named conversations, like #general or #announcements, open to the whole team or private to their members.
- Direct messages: one teammate to another. Every teammate is listed, so starting one is a tap.
- Project, task, and ticket chats: every project, task, and Helpdesk ticket has its own chat. Whoever may see that record may read and write in its chat, and nobody else.
New messages appear on their own, without reloading. Mention a teammate with @ and their first name and they see it on the bell. Share files, react to messages, and see who has read what you sent. Channels is for your team only: nothing in it is ever shown to a client or a website visitor. Website visitors write to you through the Chat app instead.
In These Docs
- Conversations: the Chat window, unread counts, sending, files, reactions, read marks, @mentions, the bell, must-read channels, and Clear.
- The Chat Assistant: connecting an assistant your team asks with @, what it is sent, how it answers, and its buttons.
- Channels Settings: adding and changing channels, private channels, who posts, archiving, and monitoring.
Who Can Do What
- Read and write in team chat (owners, admins, and members): the Chat window, every conversation they may read, sending, files, reactions, and Clear.
- Add and change team channels, and change Channels Settings (owners and admins).
- Post as the chat assistant (owners and admins, and the API key the assistant uses).
- A record's chat follows the record: whoever may see a project, task, or ticket (Roles) may read and write in its chat.
AI Agents
A connected AI agent never reads or writes in team chat for a person: conversations are between people. Your own chat assistant answers only when someone asks it with @, through its own API key (The Chat Assistant).
Your Data
Every conversation and message is kept in your company's own database. Nothing is deleted: an archived channel is kept, read only, and the messages of someone who left stay with their name. Export Everything (Exporting) includes Channels as two spreadsheets, Conversations and Messages, and the files shared in chats.
