Is Microsoft Forms really free?
Microsoft says Forms is generally available to customers with a Microsoft account as well as to Microsoft 365 business and education customers. Limits differ by account type. A work tenant has no separate Forms charge (October 2026).
How many responses can one Microsoft form hold?
Work and school forms allow 5,000,000 responses, or 50,000 on GCC High and DoD tenants. Personal accounts allow 200 on the free tier and 1,000 on paid ones. A feedback program on a personal account fills that quickly (October 2026).
How many questions can a form have?
The limit is 200 questions per form or quiz. A form title is capped at 90 characters, a question at 4,000, and total response text at 200,000 characters per form (October 2026).
Does Microsoft Forms do NPS?
Yes. Net Promoter Score appears under More question types, beside Ranking, Likert, and File upload. It gives the question; it does not run a program, schedule sends, or trend scores against accounts (October 2026).
Can Microsoft Forms branch?
Yes, branching is a named feature, and Microsoft's community guidance says it only jumps to a later question. We could not confirm that on an official page, so test it on your form (October 2026).
How do I get Forms results into Excel?
On the Responses tab, choose Open in Excel. On a work account the workbook sits in OneDrive with a live connection, and new responses appear in it. Downloading gives a static copy (October 2026).
Does Microsoft Forms connect to Zoho CRM?
Not on the Microsoft pages we read. A connection would need Power Automate or a similar tool that you build. Managed Zoho Survey writes each response onto the right CRM record with the score and comment attached.
What happens if we delete a question in Forms?
Microsoft states that deleting a question also permanently deletes its response data. Export first. In our setup we rewrite questions in a copy so history stays intact.
Can you move our existing forms?
Yes. We list the forms still in use, rewrite the questions that need it, and rebuild them in Zoho Survey. Responses can come across where the structure allows. Migration runs on your monthly plan with no setup fee.
What do we lose leaving Microsoft Forms?
The zero extra cost, the Teams and SharePoint integration, and the simplicity for quick polls and quizzes. Keep Forms for those. Use Zoho Survey for programs that feed customer records.
Can Zoho Survey brand surveys and use our domain?
Yes. We set up branding, themes, and custom domains as part of the plan, along with reusable templates and question banks.
Who owns the Zoho Survey account?
Your company. The Zoho organization is registered to you, the subscription is in your name, and the responses are yours. Zoho bills the license directly and we add no markup.
How fast do you reply?
Requests are answered within two business days, by the people who wrote your questions in the first place.
Does Zoho Survey handle anonymous responses?
Yes, and we configure retention and access with it, including roles and permissions. Tell us what your policy needs and we will set it up.
When should we stay on Microsoft Forms?
When you need a quick internal poll, a quiz, or an event sign up, and the answers do not need to land in a CRM. It is free with your plan, and our fee would buy you little there.
