Egnyte alternative
An Egnyte Alternative for Teams That Need Order, Not a Compliance Suite
Egnyte lists four plans from $22 to $48 per user a month, billed annually, plus a custom Ultimate tier (October 2026). Managed Zoho WorkDrive is a different bet. We design the Team Folder structure, migrate your files, roll out TrueSync, and review sharing and storage every month, inside a Zoho account your company owns.
With Cascadia you get
- Migration is included, not extra
- Your team trained, not confused
- We will say when WorkDrive is wrong
- Structure designed before anything moves
- Your account, your data
- Connected to the rest of Zoho

Where Our Team Picks up the Work
A platform with advanced governance still needs somebody to decide the rules. That decision work is what we take on.
Egnyte hands you a tier, we hand you a design
On Egnyte's pricing page, Business, Enterprise Lite, Elite, and Ultimate differ by feature set (October 2026). Picking one is your job. We start earlier, by deciding which Team Folders exist, who holds which role in each, and what the naming rule is.
The Account Stays Yours
Your WorkDrive organization, files, version history, and Zoho subscription sit in an account registered to your company. We work inside it. If you ever leave us, nothing needs transferring.
Files That Reach the Rest of Zoho
WorkDrive pairs with Zoho Sign and Writer for document workflows and with Zoho Flow for automations. If your CRM, Desk, or Books already run on Zoho, the file system joins them instead of sitting beside them.
A Move You Do Not Plan Yourself
Egnyte offers migration tooling, but scoping what to bring is left to you. We handle the export, the duplicate cleanup, the archive decisions, and the mapping of old sharing onto WorkDrive roles, all part of your monthly plan.
Three Situations Worth a Second Look
A Mid Sized Firm Outgrowing 100 Users
Egnyte Business is listed with a maximum of 100 users (October 2026). Past that, the next step is Enterprise Lite at $39 per user a month, billed annually (October 2026). If you are close to the line, it is worth pricing both routes.
Teams That Bought Egnyte for One Feature
Ransomware detection, suspicious login detection, and content lifecycle policies are marked as Enterprise Lite and above in Egnyte's comparison table (October 2026). If you only needed tidy sharing and retention, that may be more platform than the job calls for.
Companies Already Inside Zoho One
WorkDrive is included in Zoho One with storage. If you are paying for the suite and have never opened WorkDrive, we build the Team Folder structure in the account you already have.
Choose Egnyte if
- An auditor expects CMMC, GxP, or FINRA support by name
- You are headed past 100 users with budget for Enterprise Lite or Elite
- An annual per user contract suits your finance team
Choose Cascadia if
- Nobody owns folder structure or link expiry
- You want leavers and guests handled on a schedule
- You already pay for Zoho One and WorkDrive sits unused
Leaving Egnyte, Step by Step
- 1
Week One: We Read Your Egnyte Setup
We ask for the folder tree, the list of external users, and the current permission model. Egnyte is not among the sources we name on our service page, so we agree on the first call how the export will run and what date we are working to.
- 2
Weeks One and Two: We Design the Replacement
Before anything is copied, we draw the WorkDrive Team Folder tree, the roles inside each, the naming standard, and the link and guest policy. You approve it on paper.
- 3
Weeks two to four: we move, clean, and connect
We export, drop duplicates and abandoned versions, import to the agreed scope, roll TrueSync onto each machine, and connect your directory and single sign on. A large archive takes longer, and we put that in writing.
- 4
After Cutover: We Keep It Tidy
New users, leavers, permission changes, a monthly storage and external access review, and audit exports when somebody asks. Your Egnyte contract stays between you and Egnyte, so check its renewal date first.

Egnyte Alternative Questions
Plain answers about Egnyte's plans, moving off it, and what we do and do not cover.
See Managed Zoho WorkDriveStill have a question?
What is Egnyte, in one paragraph?
Egnyte is a cloud content platform sold per user, with a desktop app, mobile apps, and external user accounts on every tier. Its plan ladder runs Business, Enterprise Lite, Elite, and Ultimate (October 2026). Its compliance page lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, and rules for financial and life sciences firms (October 2026).
What does Egnyte cost?
Egnyte's pricing page lists Business at $22 per user a month, Enterprise Lite at $39, and Elite at $48, all paid annually, with Ultimate by custom quote (October 2026). A separate Team plan is listed at $10 per user a month for 1 to 10 users (October 2026). A multi-year discount is mentioned on the page.
What does Egnyte Business cap?
Its pricing page lists a maximum of 100 users on Business, while Enterprise Lite, Elite, and Ultimate are listed as unlimited (October 2026). For a 25 person firm, $22 per user comes to $550 a month at list price, before any add-on. That is simple arithmetic on the published rate, not a quote.
Which Egnyte features sit on higher tiers?
According to the comparison table, advanced workflows, ransomware detection, suspicious login detection, and content lifecycle and retention begin at Enterprise Lite. PDF markup and auto-remediation begin at Elite (October 2026). Business does include the desktop app, external user accounts, versioning and file locking, and Microsoft 365 co-editing. Read the table against your own list before you pick.
Are there Egnyte add-ons that change the bill?
Yes. The pricing page lists Project Hub at $6 per user a month, Specialized File Handler at $6, and Snapshot and Recovery at $10 (October 2026). Industry packages, including GxP, CMMC 2.0, and eTMF, are quoted through a specialist. Add those to the per user rate before comparing against anything flat.
Is Egnyte better than Zoho WorkDrive at anything?
Yes, at regulated work. Egnyte publishes CMMC 2.0, DFARS, 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, and FINRA and SEC rule support on its compliance page (October 2026). We do not claim WorkDrive matches those lists. If an auditor in pharma, defense contracting, or broker-dealer work expects them by name, Egnyte is the safer pick.
How does Egnyte's desktop app compare with TrueSync?
They solve the same problem. Egnyte describes a mapped drive on Windows, a Volume on Mac, and sync of selected folders for offline use (October 2026). TrueSync gives Windows a mapped drive and Mac a mounted volume, with folders you can mark for offline access. One TrueSync limit to plan for: client users work in the browser.
Can you migrate us off Egnyte?
Yes, as a scoped job. Egnyte is not on the list of sources we name publicly, which covers Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, SharePoint, and file servers. So we agree the export method and a date on the first call, then clean duplicates, rebuild the Team Folder tree, and map old sharing onto WorkDrive roles. Typical cutover is two to four weeks.
What should I do before leaving Egnyte?
Check your renewal date and notice terms first, because an annual commitment is how Egnyte lists its pricing. Then export the user and external collaborator lists, and note which folders are shared by link. We help assemble that inventory. We do not cancel contracts on your behalf, and that conversation stays between you and Egnyte.
Do we still pay for a Zoho license?
Yes. Our fee covers running WorkDrive, not the Zoho subscription, which sits in an account registered to your company. If you already hold Zoho One, WorkDrive is included along with storage. We tell you which position you are in before you commit, so the first invoice is no surprise.
What stays with us after the move?
Decisions about who should see what. We design the roles and write the rules, and we remove access when someone leaves, but your managers still say who belongs on which team. You also keep the account, the files, and the version history. Nothing about the account is held behind an agency login.
What will Cascadia not do?
We will not sell you compliance attestations, and we do not hold an audit certificate for your data. We configure permissions, retention, DLP, and audit trails inside WorkDrive, then pull evidence for a questionnaire. If a contract demands a named certification from the vendor, check that vendor's own published list.
How long until we hear back after we reach out?
Within two business days. The first conversation is about your Egnyte setup: how many people, which folders are shared outside the company, and where your renewal date falls. We say plainly if staying put is the better move, which for some regulated teams it is.
Why not just move to Egnyte's cheaper tier?
Sometimes you should. If Business at $22 per user covers your needs, you have under 100 people, and someone owns the folder structure, the tier is reasonable. We are the better fit when the structure and sharing rules were never anyone's job, and a cheaper tier would simply move the same untidy pile.
