- Technicians get a short list
- Jobs turn into invoices

Where the Comparison Turns
Four differences matter in practice, and the first one runs in ServiceM8’s favor for small shops.
A job count sets the ServiceM8 bill, and the ladder is steep at the top
Growing is $79 a month for 150 jobs, Premium is $149 for 500, and Premium Plus is $349 for 1,500 or more, with 20 cents for each job past that (October 2026). Every paid plan has unlimited users.
Several ServiceM8 Features Start Above the Entry Plans
Asset management and electronic forms arrive with Growing, and job costing and markup billing with Premium (October 2026). On every plan, assets, checklists, and price books are all part of the build.
Your books may not be on its short list
ServiceM8 names Xero, QuickBooks Online, and MYOB on its integrations page, and Zoho is not mentioned there (October 2026). We connect Zoho FSM to Zoho Books and Inventory, and to QuickBooks where that is what you run.
Somebody Has to Keep the Setup Current
Templates, price lists, and scheduling rules drift as services change. We take the change requests, make them within two business days, and send a monthly summary of volume and failures.
Who Should Read This Comparison
A Growing Crew Nearing 500 Jobs a Month
At that point Premium at $149 is close to full and Premium Plus at $349 is next (October 2026). Weigh that jump against a published monthly plan with 25 field users included.
A business that already keeps its books in Zoho
Zoho Books is not one of ServiceM8’s named accounting connections (October 2026). A direct FSM to Books link removes the bridge you would otherwise build.
A team that wants someone else to own the setup
ServiceM8 points to a partner network for setup and training and to its own learning roadmap (October 2026). We build the templates and board and stay on to change them.
Choose ServiceM8 if
- You open under 150 jobs a month
- Your books are in Xero or QuickBooks Online
- You want 24/7 chat and are happy to configure it yourself
Choose Cascadia if
- Your books and CRM are already in Zoho
- You are heading past 500 jobs a month
- Nobody has time to maintain templates and rules
Moving from ServiceM8 to Zoho FSM
A simple setup is usually live in two to three weeks, and a multi crew setup with an accounting link takes four to six.
- 1
We Read Your ServiceM8 Account First
Which plan you are on, how many jobs you open in a busy month, which add-ons run, and what feeds your accounting. That tells us whether a move helps at all.
- 2
We Pull Your Data and Rebuild the Templates
Customers, service addresses, assets, and the price list come across. Job templates are rebuilt in Zoho FSM rather than copied, because a ServiceM8 account backup cannot be imported into another system and a CSV carries no photos.
- 3
One Crew Pilots It While ServiceM8 Keeps Running
Real jobs find the gaps a demo hides. The rest of the technicians wait until the pilot crew stops reaching for the old app.
- 4
We Cut Over and Then Keep It Tuned
Dispatch and the mobile app usually go live before billing and reporting are finished. After that, change requests and a monthly summary keep the setup current.

ServiceM8 Questions, Answered
Plans, limits, exports, and what a move would involve.
See Managed Zoho FSMStill have a question?
What is ServiceM8?
ServiceM8 is a job management app for field service businesses, with iOS and Android apps. Every plan includes job cards, scheduling, quoting, invoicing, card payments, online bookings, and staff GPS tracking (October 2026). It is sold directly and also through a partner network that handles setup and training. Cascadia does not resell it.
How do ServiceM8 plans work?
Plans are set by jobs per month. Free is $0 for 30 jobs and one user, Starter is $29 for 50, Growing is $79 for 150, Premium is $149 for 500, and Premium Plus is $349 for 1,500 or more, with 20 cents per job beyond that. All include a 14 day trial (October 2026).
Does ServiceM8 limit how many users I add?
Not on paid plans. Starter and above list unlimited users, so a tenth technician adds nothing to the bill (October 2026). That is a real strength for a crew that is growing but still under a few hundred jobs a month. Our plans are priced by hours of Zoho work, not by field user.
Which ServiceM8 features need a higher plan?
Asset management, electronic forms, proposals, and bundles start on Growing at $79. Job costing, markup billing, and a knowledge base start on Premium at $149 (October 2026). If you service equipment or need cost tracking, check which plan holds the feature before comparing the headline prices.
Does ServiceM8 charge for text messages?
Only on the free plan, where each SMS costs 10 cents. Starter through Premium Plus include SMS (October 2026). Its phone add-on, ServiceM8 Phone, starts at $19 a month on any plan, with a one month free trial. Ask us how reminders would be sent from Zoho FSM.
Does ServiceM8 work without a signal?
Yes, and well. ServiceM8 says field staff can view job details and the schedule, take photos and videos, and collect signatures offline. The one limit it states is that templates cannot be produced and emails or texts cannot be sent until the phone reconnects (October 2026). Zoho FSM also works offline, and we test it in rollout.
Can ServiceM8 connect to Zoho Books?
Its integrations page names Xero, QuickBooks Online, and MYOB, and Zoho is not mentioned there (October 2026). It does list Zapier, Workato, and an open API, so a bridge is possible. Zoho FSM links to Zoho Books and Inventory directly, and we watch that sync so a failure surfaces before month end.
How do I get my data out of ServiceM8?
Open Settings, then ServiceM8 Account, then Download Account Backup. It collects jobs, clients, materials, and documents in one file, can run once every 24 hours, and cannot be imported into another ServiceM8 account (October 2026). The Advanced Reporting Pack adds CSV exports of jobs and clients, without photos or PDFs. We work from those files.
What would a move from ServiceM8 look like?
We import customers, service addresses, assets, and the price list, then rebuild job templates in Zoho FSM instead of copying them. One crew pilots it while ServiceM8 keeps running. Historical job records can come across too, though a very large archive is scoped as a separate project. A simple go-live is two to three weeks.
Is ServiceM8 cheaper than Cascadia?
Often, yes. A crew under 150 jobs a month pays $79 for Growing, or $29 on Starter for 50 jobs (October 2026), and our managed fee will not beat that. Our plans are published and priced by hours of Zoho work, and you pay Zoho separately for the FSM license. Our case rests on volume, Zoho books, or time you cannot spare.
What support does ServiceM8 offer?
ServiceM8 describes its support as available 24/7 by free email and live chat, plus a help center, a learning roadmap of videos and articles, and an independent partner network for setup (October 2026). Our model is narrower. We reply within two business days, and change requests under a subscription are made within two business days.
Where does ServiceM8 keep my data?
Its security page lists Amazon Web Services data centers in the United States, Australia, Ireland, Singapore, and Tokyo, along with two step authentication and a 90 day activity log (October 2026). It states five minute backups, while its help center describes 24 hour backups to Amazon S3. Ask ServiceM8 which applies to you.
Who owns the Zoho FSM account if we move?
You do. The subscription sits in your company name, we work inside it as administrators, and nothing is held behind an agency account. If you leave us, the system stays where it is. Zoho bills you directly for the FSM license at its published per user rate.
What will Cascadia not do?
We will not advise a move when ServiceM8 already fits. A one truck business on Starter with 50 jobs a month does not need a managed service, and we would say so on the first call. We also do not carry your Zoho license, and we do not run ServiceM8 itself.
