On their timeline for standard domains, the domain is parked five days after expiry and linked websites and email stop. It is no longer active in your account at day 18, and recovery then needs a redemption fee (October 2026). Renewal at the standard price remains possible until then.
How many times does GoDaddy try to auto-renew?
The timeline lists an attempt on the day of expiry and a final attempt 12 days after (October 2026). The auto-renew help page does not describe retry timing, so do not assume more.
When does GoDaddy remove an expired domain?
At 72 days past expiry the domain is removed from your account and cannot be renewed, though it may become available for registration after the registry releases it (October 2026). Between day 26 and day 41 it appears in auctions.
What does Ultimate Domain Protection add?
Ninety days to renew a domain that accidentally expired because of failed billing, with no extra fees to recover it, on top of the Full tier's change alerts and Activity Log (October 2026). Check the price in your portfolio, as the help page does not state one.
What is free with a GoDaddy domain?

Does GoDaddy send renewal reminders?
Yes. They state multiple emails in the 30 days before expiry and 30 days after (October 2026). Those go to the account, so an unmonitored inbox still defeats them.
Why did GoDaddy pages not load for you?
