What Ships in the Standard Plan Here
Harmonic gives you prompt-level visibility, risk scoring, and coaching that warns or blocks as people type. Deciding which risks matter, and following up with the people involved, is still your work. Here it is ours.
- Every request through the gateway scanned, not sampled
- Card numbers, bank details, and ID numbers caught
- Prompts checked, and the replies that come back
- Blocked outright or flagged, whichever you choose
- Flagged items read by a person here every week
- False positives tuned out as your team learns
- Nothing installed on anyone’s laptop
- A monthly report of what was caught and where
- A record of each catch kept for 90 days
- Profiles that cover whatever your business defines
Where Gateway Scanning Is the Lighter Option
No extension to push, no plan tier to pick, and a person reading what was caught.
No Extension to Deploy
Harmonic deploys its browser extension through Intune, JAMF, Kandji, or Group Policy. We scan at the gateway, so there is nothing to push to devices.
One Plan, Priced in Public
$49 a month per organization, plus AI Gateway at $79. There is no tier above it where the real reviewing lives.
The Follow-Up Is Ours
Visibility is the start. Each week a person here reads what was flagged, raises patterns with you, and tunes out the false positives.
A Report You Can Hand On
Each month you get what was caught, which application it came from, and what was blocked or allowed, in plain words.
Who This Comparison Is For
Harmonic Sees More of the Picture
Its extension covers prompts across more than 1,000 applications, and higher plans reach desktop apps, coding tools, and AI agents. We see what passes through your gateway.
Its Coaching Is Fast
On the Guide plan, Harmonic coaches, warns, or blocks in under 200 milliseconds. Our blocking is just as immediate, but the coaching comes in the weekly review.
Insight Without an Owner Fades
A dashboard of AI usage is useful the week it arrives. Without somebody to act on it, it stops being opened.
Choose Harmonic Security if
- Browser chat windows are your main exposure
- You want coaching as people type
- Someone on staff will act on usage data
Choose Cascadia if
- You want nothing installed on devices
- Your AI traffic runs through applications
- You want the review done for you
Moving from Harmonic Security to Gateway Scanning in Four Steps
Most of the work is ours. Yours is a short conversation and someone who can change the endpoint each application calls.
- 1
We Look at What Harmonic Has Shown You
Its usage data tells us which tools your people rely on and which data types turn up. Our profiles start from that, not from guesswork.
- 2
We Switch on Scanning at the Gateway
Financial and identifier profiles go on first and get tuned to your data. Each match is set to block or to flag, according to what you choose.
- 3
We Read the First Week of Flags
A person reads every flagged item, removes the false positives, and raises any pattern with you. The first full picture arrives within a week.
- 4
You Decide on the Extension
If browser chat windows are still a worry, keep Harmonic there. If your AI use runs mostly through applications, the gateway may be enough on its own.

Harmonic Security Alternative Questions
Straight answers about switching, pricing, and what moves with you.
See Content GuardrailsStill have a question?
What is a Harmonic Security alternative?
Any other way to see and control how staff use AI tools. Prompt Security and Nightfall AI cover similar ground, Microsoft Purview and Netskope fold it into larger suites, and managed services like this one run the scanning and the review for you.
How is Cascadia different from Harmonic Security?
Harmonic is a platform your team runs, built around a browser extension and usage visibility. We scan AI traffic at the gateway and do the reviewing ourselves. Harmonic sees more; we take more of the work off your plate.
What does Harmonic Security cost?
Harmonic lists three plans, Explore, Guide, and Command, without prices (October 2026). Ours is $49 a month per organization, plus AI Gateway at $79.
How does Harmonic get onto our devices?
Through a browser extension deployed with Intune, JAMF, Kandji, or Group Policy, along with an MCP gateway that runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. We install nothing on devices.
Does this need AI Gateway?
Yes. The scanning happens inside AI Gateway, so on its own Content Guardrails has nothing to read. AI Gateway is $79 a month per organization and Content Guardrails is $49 on top of it. If you want both along with Managed MCP for five people, AI Pro bundles the three for $189 a month. Harmonic prices its product separately, so the honest comparison is against the two of ours together.
Does Harmonic cover browser chats you would miss?
Yes. Its extension sees prompts typed into AI tools in the browser. We see what is routed through your gateway, not a browser tab. If chat windows are your main exposure, Harmonic is the better fit.
What happens to an item that gets flagged?
A person here reads it that week. Patterns come to you in words, repeat offenders are surfaced quietly, and false positives are tuned out.
Can we decide what counts as sensitive?
Yes. We start with the predefined profiles for financial and identifier data, then tune them to what your business actually handles.
Do you keep a record of what was caught?
Yes. What was caught, when, and from which application, kept for 90 days. The content itself is held only as long as you want it to be.
Does this slow anything down for staff?
Nothing is installed on their machines, so there is nothing sitting in the way. The only time anyone notices is when a match is blocked, and whether matches are blocked or flagged is your choice.
How long before we see results?
Setup starts within two business days, and the first full picture arrives within a week.
What if we want to leave?
Point your applications back at the providers and the scanning stops. The records of what was caught come with you.
