TrueFoundry alternative
A TrueFoundry Alternative Priced per Organization, Not per User
TrueFoundry Pro is $25 per user a month, with 20,000 requests per user and $20 for each further 100,000 (October 2026). It is built for platform teams governing AI across a large company. Most small businesses need less platform and more somebody to run it.
With Cascadia you get
- One price per organization
- Nothing for you to administer
- Every request logged
- Spend caps set with you
- Fallback when a provider fails
- 90 days of history

Who Runs It
What Ships in the Standard Plan Here
TrueFoundry gives you budget rules, virtual model groups, guardrail policies, and a choice of SaaS or your own cloud on Enterprise. Designing those rules, and keeping them right as usage shifts, is work your team takes on.
- One price, $79 a month, however many people use AI
- Nothing for you to administer or deploy
- The prompt, reply, model, and cost logged per request
- Spend caps and rate limits agreed for each application
- A warning before a budget is reached
- Fallback and retries when a provider is down
- Ninety days of searchable logs
- A monthly written report, by application
- Your providers and your keys stay yours
- Caching, so the same answer is paid for once
Where Cascadia Goes Further
Per-user pricing suits a company with a platform team. Per-organization pricing suits one without.
Priced by Organization, Not Head Count
On TrueFoundry Pro, ten people come to $250 a month before any extra requests (October 2026). Ours stays at $79 a month per organization whoever is using it.
Longer History on the Standard Plan
TrueFoundry keeps logs for 7 days on Developer and 30 days on Pro, with custom retention on Enterprise. We keep 90 days on the one plan we sell.
Budget Rules Turned into Numbers That Fit
TrueFoundry Pro allows up to 10 budget rules (October 2026). We work out with you what each application’s cap should be, then watch it.
Nobody Becomes the Gateway Admin
There is no console for someone on your team to learn and no role to assign. The only change at your end is the endpoint your applications call.
Who This Comparison Is For
Large Companies with a Platform Team
If you need SSO, audit logs, custom roles, and deployment in a VPC, on-premises, or air-gapped, TrueFoundry Enterprise is built for that and we are not.
Teams Already Running MCP Servers
TrueFoundry bundles an MCP gateway with its LLM gateway. Ours is a separate service, Managed MCP, or part of AI Pro with the gateway included.
Small Teams Where Everyone Uses AI
Per-user pricing goes up each time someone new starts using the tools. A flat price per organization does not move.
Choose TrueFoundry if
- You have a platform team to run it
- You need VPC or air-gapped deployment
- SSO, audit logs, and custom roles are required
Choose Cascadia if
- You want one price whatever the head count
- Nobody wants to be the gateway admin
- You want 90 days of logs and a monthly report
Moving from TrueFoundry in Four Steps
The gateway sits in the same place in your architecture, so the move is an endpoint change. Most of the effort is translating budget rules into caps that fit a smaller team.
- 1
We Read Your Budget Rules and Routing
Which providers and model groups are configured, what budget rules and rate limits exist, and what a normal month costs.
- 2
We Turn Them into Caps per Application
Limits are agreed with you on a call and set before any traffic moves, so nothing gets blocked unexpectedly.
- 3
Applications Point at the New Endpoint
One application at a time, with your provider keys unchanged. TrueFoundry can stay live until you are satisfied.
- 4
The Reports Start
The first full picture arrives within a week, then a written report every month showing spend by application and what changed.

TrueFoundry Alternative Questions
Straight answers about pricing, governance, and switching.
See AI GatewayStill have a question?
What is a TrueFoundry alternative?
Any other gateway that governs your AI calls. That includes enterprise platforms such as Kong AI Gateway, developer tools such as Portkey and LiteLLM, and managed services like ours where someone else does the running.
How is Cascadia different from TrueFoundry?
TrueFoundry is a platform your team operates, priced per user, with a lot of governance depth for large organizations. We run a narrower gateway for you: logging, caching, caps, and fallback, with a written monthly report, at $79 a month per organization.
Is TrueFoundry cheaper for a small team?
For two or three people, yes. TrueFoundry Pro is $25 per user a month, and the free Developer tier covers up to 3 users with 10,000 requests each (October 2026). Past three users on Pro the per-user total passes $79, and our price stays where it is.
Does TrueFoundry do things you do not?
Plenty. Guardrail policies on Pro, an MCP gateway, SSO, audit logs, custom roles, data residency, and deployment in your own cloud or air-gapped on Enterprise. If those are requirements, TrueFoundry is the right call.
What about guardrails?
TrueFoundry includes guardrail policies on Pro. Ours is a separate service, Content Guardrails, at $49 a month, which needs AI Gateway in front of it.
Do my applications need code changes?
Only the endpoint they call. Your provider keys stay yours, and you can point the applications back at any time.
Where does my data go?
Prompts and responses pass through the infrastructure the gateway runs on. We explain exactly what that means before anything is switched on. If you need deployment inside your own cloud, TrueFoundry Enterprise offers it and we do not.
How long are logs kept?
Ninety days, with the prompt, reply, model, cost, and the application that made each call.
How quickly does setup start?
Within two business days, with the first full picture inside a week.
Ready to hand the gateway over?
$79 a month per organization regardless of head count, 90 days of logs, caps agreed with you, and a monthly report. AI Pro bundles the gateway, Content Guardrails, and Managed MCP for 5 people at $189 a month.
