Most affiliate programs treat referrers as a traffic source and pay accordingly. We built this one around a smaller number of partners who actually know the people they are sending. That shapes everything: we approve applications by hand, we pay on recurring revenue rather than a single bounty, and we track by link so you do not lose credit to a forgotten code. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Approved, not auto-accepted

Anyone can sign up for most programs in thirty seconds. We read every application and decide. That means fewer partners, less spam traffic, and a program where the people in it are actually connected to the businesses they refer. You will hear back from a person, either way.

Paid on revenue, not signups

A bounty rewards getting someone through the door. We pay a percentage of what your referral actually pays us, every month, for the length of your commission window. If they stay, you keep earning. It ties your upside to whether the fit was genuinely good.

No code to forget at checkout

Coupon codes only pay out when the customer remembers to type one, and referrers quietly lose sales that way all the time. Your link tags the visitor for 90 days instead. Attribution does not depend on anyone's memory, and nothing leaks onto coupon aggregator sites.

A tier gap worth earning

Plenty of programs have tiers that differ by two or three percent. Ours does not. Tier 2 pays double the rate for double the window and adds project commission, which makes a referred account worth roughly four times what Tier 1 pays on the same client.

You are not picking a product to promote. The same link covers WordPress, Frappe, Zoho, email, marketing, and operations work. Refer someone who needs help with any of it, and whichever recurring service they sign up for is the one you earn on.

We publish what a referral is actually worth rather than advertising a headline percentage. A $300 per month client earns you $180 at Tier 1 and $720 at Tier 2. You can work out your own numbers before applying instead of finding out after your first payout.

How we compare

Our referral program vs a typical affiliate program

Most affiliate programs are built to recruit as many referrers as possible and pay as little as possible per conversion. This one runs the other way. Here is how the design choices differ across the things that actually decide whether a program is worth your time.

Ninety-day window vs thirty-day cookie

Most programs give you a 30-day cookie, so a prospect who takes two months to decide earns you nothing. Ours runs 90 days, which matches how long a real business actually takes to commit to a managed service.

No payout threshold vs balance gates

We pay on the first of every month regardless of balance. Threshold-based programs hold your commission until you cross fifty or a hundred dollars, which for a referrer sending a few clients a year can mean waiting indefinitely.

Project referrals tracked vs checkout only

Project work gets quoted, never bought through a checkout, so link tracking alone would miss it. We record the referring partner on the lead itself. Programs built only around checkout attribution simply cannot pay you for a quoted deal.

Conflict rules stated vs disputed later

We say up front that self-referrals and prospects already in our pipeline do not qualify. Many programs leave this vague, then decline your commission after the sale when you have no way to check the claim.

Tax paperwork handled vs murky payouts

We collect a W-9 during onboarding and issue a 1099 once you pass $600 in a year. Programs that skip this leave you reconciling untracked income, or chasing a payout that never had proper records behind it.

Named terms vs shifting rules

Rates, windows, and disqualifiers are published before you apply and written into the agreement. Programs that keep terms behind a login can revise them after you have already built traffic around the offer.

The process

How the referral program works

There are three steps and none of them require ongoing effort once you are set up. You apply, you share a link, and you get paid monthly for as long as your referrals stay subscribed inside your commission window.

You apply and we review it

Tell us who you reach and how you plan to share your link. We read every application rather than approving automatically, and most decisions go out within a few business days. If it is a fit, you sign the program agreement and we issue your personal tracking link. If it is not, we will tell you why.

You share your link

Put it wherever your recommendations already happen: a proposal, an email, a resource page, a conversation. When someone clicks it, we tag their session for 90 days. They can leave, think it over, and come back weeks later, and the referral still credits to you when they sign up.

We pay you on the first

Once your referral is on a paid invoice, commission starts accruing. We pay out on the first of every month with no minimum balance, so even a single referral gets paid rather than sitting in a pending total. You keep earning for six months on Tier 1 or twelve on Tier 2.

Earn 10% of every payment a referred client makes on their managed service subscription. The commission applies to the actual invoice amount, so larger accounts pay you more.

Six Months Of Payouts

Your commission runs for six months from the client's first paid invoice. You keep earning for as long as they stay subscribed inside that window, with no extra work on your part.

90-Day Attribution Window

Your link tags the visitor for 90 days. If they sign up any time inside that window, the referral is credited to you, even if they leave the site and come back later.

Your Own Tracking Link

Your commission runs a full twelve months from the client's first paid invoice, double the Tier 1 window. Paired with the higher rate, a referred account is worth four times as much.

10% On Project Work

Tier 2 is the only tier that earns on one-time project work. Send us a build, migration, or implementation, and you take 10% of the project invoice once it is paid.

Invitation Only

We invite partners into Tier 2 rather than accepting applications. That keeps the tier small and lets us give the people sending real volume the rate their referrals actually justify.

Active Tier 1 partners are the main pipeline into Tier 2. Keep sending referrals that convert and stay subscribed, and we will reach out about moving you up.

Everything Tier One Includes

You keep the 90-day attribution window, your personal tracking link, and monthly payouts with no minimum. Tier 2 adds a higher rate, a longer window, and project commission on top.

How does the Cascadia referral program work?

You apply, we review your application by hand, and once you are approved we issue a personal tracking link. Share it however you normally reach people. How does tracking work if there is no coupon code?

We deliberately skipped codes. A code only pays out if the customer remembers to type it, and referrers lose credit constantly that way. Your link sets a 90-day session on our site instead. Attribution follows the visitor whether they buy on the first visit or come back three weeks later, and nothing depends on them entering anything at checkout.

What counts as a qualifying referral?

One-time project work earns commission for Tier 2 partners only. In every case the purchase has to happen inside the 90-day window that starts when your link is clicked.

When do I get paid?

We pay out on the first of every month for commission earned and cleared during the prior month. There is no minimum balance, so a single small referral gets paid rather than sitting until you reach a threshold. Commission is calculated on invoices the client has actually paid, not on signups or trials.

How long does approval take?

We review applications individually rather than approving automatically. Most decisions go out within a few business days. We are looking for referrers whose audience overlaps with the people we can genuinely help, so tell us who you reach and how you plan to share your link. You will hear back either way.

Do I earn on renewals or only the first payment?

You earn on every payment inside your commission window, not just the first. For Tier 1 that is six months of invoices starting from the client's first paid one. For Tier 2 it is twelve months. If the client cancels partway through, commission stops with their last paid invoice.

Can I refer myself or my own company?

No. Self-referrals do not qualify, and that includes accounts for companies you own or control. The program exists to pay for customers we would not otherwise have reached. If you are already a client and want to refer other people, that is welcome. Your own subscription simply is not a commissionable referral.

Will I receive a 1099?

If you are a US person and we pay you more than $600 in a calendar year, we issue a 1099 and need a completed W-9 on file before we can pay out. We request it during onboarding. Commission is income, and how you report it is between you and your accountant.

What is the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2?

Tier 1 pays 10% for six months on recurring services. Tier 2 pays 20% for twelve months on those same services, and adds 10% on one-time project work, which Tier 1 does not earn at all. Everything else is identical: the 90-day window, your tracking link, and monthly payouts with no minimum.

How much more is Tier 2 actually worth?

How do I get into Tier 2?

Tier 2 is by invitation, so there is no separate application form. The usual path is joining Tier 1, referring clients who convert and stay subscribed, and receiving an invitation from us. We watch for partners sending consistent, good-fit referrals rather than one-off bursts of traffic.

Why is Tier 2 invitation only?

Because the rate is high enough that we want to extend it deliberately. Twenty percent for twelve months plus project commission is a real cost to us, and it makes sense for partners sending steady, qualified referrals. Keeping the tier small means we can pay that rate properly instead of diluting it across everyone.

Does one-time project work really earn commission?

For Tier 2 partners, yes. Builds, migrations, and implementations earn you 10% of the project invoice once the client has paid it. Project work is usually the largest single thing an agency or consultant sends us, which is exactly why we reserved it for the tier built around that kind of referral.

How is project work tracked when there is no checkout?

Project work gets quoted rather than bought through a checkout, so the link alone will not capture it. We record the referring partner on the lead when it arrives, and that carries through to the invoice. If you are sending a project our way, have the client mention you, or introduce us directly so attribution is unambiguous.

Can I lose Tier 2 status?

Tier 2 is not permanent. If referrals stop for an extended stretch we may move you back to Tier 1, and we will tell you before that happens. Commission already earned on existing referred accounts pays out under the terms in effect when the referral was made, so a tier change never claws back what you have accrued.
