TextMagic alternative

A Managed Alternative To TextMagic

Two-way conversation that stays inside Zoho. Replies land on the record, and nothing about your customers leaves your own Zoho account: no vendor dashboard, no copy of your data, no phone home. Message one person or a whole list, and every reply lands back on the record in SMS History.

What makes it different

Nothing phones home
The reply comes back
You bring the Twilio account
Personalized at any volume
It finds all the phone fields
History follows the record

The short version

Where a managed service beats running TextMagic alone

Most texting tools for Zoho CRM work the same way. You install a connector, and your customer data starts flowing out to somebody else’s platform so their application can send the message and hold the thread.

What changes once we run it

The usual connector earns its place by holding your customer data on a platform you do not control. This extension takes the opposite approach: it runs inside your own Zoho CRM on your own Twilio account, every reply lands back on the record in SMS History, and nothing is ever sent to us.

The reply comes back

No TextMagic account and no vendor platform in the path. The extension runs inside your Zoho account on your own Twilio credentials.

You bring the Twilio account

You connect your own Twilio account, so message costs are billed to you at Twilio prices with nobody in the middle taking a cut.

Personalized at any volume

Dynamic text pulls values out of the record as each message is sent.

It finds all the phone fields

Records rarely hold a single phone number. The extension detects every phone field on a lead or contact, including custom ones, and lets you choose which to text.

Who this comparison is for

Zoho admins running CRM alongside everything else

One more extension in the marketplace, installed the same way as everything else you run. There is no new platform to administer and no separate user list to keep in step with your CRM.

Sales teams chasing warm leads

A text gets read faster than an email and people actually answer it. Reps can message a lead from the record they are already working in.

Service teams confirming and rescheduling appointments

Schedule the send for the day before. When somebody replies asking to move the slot, that request lands on their contact rather than in a shared inbox nobody owns.

From install to first message

Four steps, and none of them involve standing anything up. You install the extension from the Zoho Marketplace and connect your Twilio credentials.

  1. 1

    We assess your current setup

First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.

  2. 2

    Install from the Zoho Marketplace

Nothing is hosted anywhere else and no server needs provisioning; the SMS History module simply appears in your CRM, ready to use.

  3. 3

    Connect your own Twilio account

Your Twilio credentials go into the setup screen, and you pick the numbers you want to send from.

  4. 4

Text a record and watch the reply land

Use a saved template if it is a message you send often, and dynamic fields fill in the details from the record.

The difference that matters

No second account, no second system

Both options give you two-way texting on your Zoho CRM records, and on paper the feature lists look similar. The difference is architectural. TextMagic is a messaging platform you sign up for, and your conversations run through it. Ours is built in Deluge and runs inside your own Zoho account against your own Twilio credentials, so there is no TextMagic account to hold, no vendor dashboard to log into, and no copy of your customer data anywhere but Zoho.

If your objection to texting from Zoho CRM has ever been “who else ends up holding this data”, that is the question this answers.

How TextMagic works

What TextMagic does, in their own words

TextMagic is a business messaging service. What is notable for a Zoho comparison is how the two are connected.

Connected through automation platformsTheir Zoho integrations are documented through Zapier, Pipedream, n8n, Albato and Integrately rather than an extension that runs inside Zoho.
It runs on a TextMagic accountMessaging is carried by the TextMagic platform, authenticated with a TextMagic username and API key.
A third account in the pathThe automation platform sits between Zoho and TextMagic, so three services hold some part of the conversation.
Broad messaging feature setTextMagic covers SMS broadcasts, two-way chat, email to SMS, an API and a desktop app.
Workflows are trigger basedTypical setups fire a message when a record is created or updated, rather than opening a conversation on the record.
History lives in TextMagicConversations are held in the TextMagic platform rather than on the Zoho record, unless a workflow writes them back.

How is Cascadia different from TextMagic?
The main difference is that the reply comes back into your own Zoho account. No TextMagic account and no vendor platform in the path. The extension runs inside your Zoho account on your own Twilio credentials.
No. The extension is built in Deluge and runs inside your own Zoho account, using your own Twilio credentials. Message content stays in your SMS History module, and we have no access to it.
Through the Zoho Marketplace, the same way as any other Zoho CRM extension. Install it into your organization and connect your Twilio credentials in the setup screen. From there you can send your first message from a record right away. There is nothing to host and no server to stand up anywhere else.
There is a ten day free trial on the Zoho Marketplace listing. Install it, connect your Twilio account, and send real messages before committing to anything. Trials cannot be extended, so it is worth having your Twilio credentials ready before you start the clock.
It is a Zoho CRM extension that lets you text your leads and contacts using your own Twilio account, either one person at a time or a whole group at once. Replies come back into the SMS History module against the record they belong to, so the conversation stays readable inside the CRM.
The integration Zoho ships is built for one way notifications. It sends a message out and the conversation ends there. This extension adds the other direction. Replies are captured and logged against the record, and you can send in bulk rather than one alert at a time. In practice that turns SMS from an alerting channel into a conversation you can actually hold.
You do, and that is deliberate. Your own Twilio account and your own numbers mean carrier charges are billed to you directly at Twilio rates, rather than resold through us with a margin on top. Your message records also sit in your Twilio console under your name, so you can change providers or numbers whenever you want.
Select the records you want, compose the message once, and everybody selected receives it. Each send is logged against that individual record. Nothing lands in one shared pile you have to untangle afterward. You can also send to a saved list or view, which is easier when the same group gets messaged on a regular basis.
In the SMS History module, as a new entry linked to the record that replied, with nothing to copy across and no separate inbox to check. Because the history is attached to the record itself, anyone who picks up that account later can read the full exchange without asking around for context.
No. The extension has no phone home capability. It runs inside your Zoho environment and does not transmit your records, phone numbers, or message content to us. We hold no copy of any of it, and there is no vendor side dashboard collecting data in the background. This is the main structural difference between this extension and most alternatives.
Entirely on the Zoho platform, written in Deluge, with no embedded third party interface and no external web application anywhere in the path. Everything happens inside your own CRM deployment, which keeps the data boundary simple to explain to a security reviewer or an auditor.
That is what dynamic text is for. It pulls values straight out of Zoho CRM and drops them into the message body when it is sent. First name, appointment time, invoice number, or any other field on the record can be used, so a message going out to two hundred people still reads as though it was written for each one individually.
