Switching From Kaleyra To A Team That Runs It

Two-way conversation that stays inside Zoho. Replies land on the record, and nothing about your customers leaves your own Zoho account: no vendor dashboard, no copy of your data, no phone home. Message one person or a whole list, and every reply lands back on the record in SMS History.

What makes it different

Nothing phones home
The reply comes back
You bring the Twilio account
Personalized at any volume
It finds all the phone fields
History follows the record

The short version

Why teams pick Cascadia over Kaleyra

Most texting tools for Zoho CRM work the same way. You install a connector, and your customer data starts flowing out to somebody else’s platform so their application can send the message and hold the thread.

What changes once we run it

The usual connector earns its place by holding your customer data on a platform you do not control. This extension takes the opposite approach: it runs inside your own Zoho CRM on your own Twilio account, every reply lands back on the record in SMS History, and nothing is ever sent to us.

The reply comes back

No Kaleyra account and no vendor platform in the path. The extension runs inside your Zoho account on your own Twilio credentials.

You bring the Twilio account

You connect your own Twilio account, so message costs are billed to you at Twilio prices with nobody in the middle taking a cut.

Personalized at any volume

Dynamic text pulls values out of the record as each message is sent.

It finds all the phone fields

Records rarely hold a single phone number. The extension detects every phone field on a lead or contact, including custom ones, and lets you choose which to text.

Who this comparison is for

Service teams confirming and rescheduling appointments

Schedule the send for the day before. When somebody replies asking to move the slot, that request lands on their contact rather than in a shared inbox nobody owns.

Sales teams answering customer data questions

The answer here is that your leads and contacts never leave Zoho, and the only other party is the Twilio account you already own. A security reviewer can close that question in one line.

Zoho admins running CRM alongside everything else

One more extension in the marketplace, installed the same way as everything else you run. There is no new platform to administer and no separate user list to keep in step with your CRM.

From install to first message

Four steps, and none of them involve standing anything up. You install the extension from the Zoho Marketplace and connect your Twilio credentials.

  1. 1

    We assess your current setup

First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.

  2. 2

    Install from the Zoho Marketplace

A ten day free trial gives you time to put it through real work before deciding.

  3. 3

    Connect your own Twilio account

Your Twilio credentials go into the setup screen, and you pick the numbers you want to send from.

  4. 4

Text a record and watch the reply land

Use a saved template if it is a message you send often, and dynamic fields fill in the details from the record.

The difference that matters

No second account, no second system

Both options give you two-way texting on your Zoho CRM records, and on paper the feature lists look similar. The difference is architectural. Kaleyra is a messaging platform you sign up for, and your conversations run through it. Ours is built in Deluge and runs inside your own Zoho account against your own Twilio credentials, so there is no Kaleyra account to hold, no vendor dashboard to log into, and no copy of your customer data anywhere but Zoho.

If your objection to texting from Zoho CRM has ever been “who else ends up holding this data”, that is the question this answers.

How Kaleyra works

What Kaleyra does, in their own words

Kaleyra is a global CPaaS provider, now part of Tata Communications, with an SMS extension listed on the Zoho Marketplace.

It runs on a Kaleyra accountThe extension sends through Kaleyra numbers and their platform, so a Kaleyra account and number sit alongside your Zoho account.
Send, schedule and receiveTheir listing describes sending and receiving messages instantly or scheduling campaigns, with notifications when a message arrives on your Kaleyra number.
Templates and variablesTemplates, dynamic variables and URLs in messages are supported, and can be managed from the extension.
Reports and delivery logsDetailed reports and logs are provided to track delivery.
Workflow automationWorkflows can be customized to send messages from CRM events.
Built for global volumeKaleyra describes operator connections in more than 190 countries serving large organizations.

Kaleyra alternative questions

Straight answers about switching, pricing, and what moves with you.
Why would I switch from Kaleyra to Cascadia?
One reason is that replies come straight back to you. No Kaleyra account and no vendor platform in the path. The extension runs inside your Zoho account on your own Twilio credentials.
No. The extension is built in Deluge and runs inside your own Zoho account, using your own Twilio credentials. Message content stays in your SMS History module, and we have no access to it.
Compose it now and set the date and time it should go out. The send happens at the moment you chose rather than the moment you were at your desk. That helps with time zones, business hours, and anything that needs to land on a particular day, such as a renewal reminder.
The message history maps across with the conversion, so the conversation stays attached to the record. Nothing is stranded on the lead you just converted. That keeps the full exchange readable from first outreach through to an ongoing customer relationship, which is usually exactly the point at which somebody needs to look it up.
Through the Zoho Marketplace, the same way as any other Zoho CRM extension. Install it into your organization and connect your Twilio credentials in the setup screen. From there you can send your first message from a record right away. There is nothing to host and no server to stand up anywhere else.
There is a ten day free trial on the Zoho Marketplace listing. Install it, connect your Twilio account, and send real messages before committing to anything. Trials cannot be extended, so it is worth having your Twilio credentials ready before you start the clock.
It is a Zoho CRM extension that lets you text your leads and contacts using your own Twilio account, either one person at a time or a whole group at once. Replies come back into the SMS History module against the record they belong to, so the conversation stays readable inside the CRM.
The integration Zoho ships is built for one way notifications. It sends a message out and the conversation ends there. This extension adds the other direction. Replies are captured and logged against the record, and you can send in bulk rather than one alert at a time. In practice that turns SMS from an alerting channel into a conversation you can actually hold.
You do, and that is deliberate. Your own Twilio account and your own numbers mean carrier charges are billed to you directly at Twilio rates, rather than resold through us with a margin on top. Your message records also sit in your Twilio console under your name, so you can change providers or numbers whenever you want.
Select the records you want, compose the message once, and everybody selected receives it. Each send is logged against that individual record. Nothing lands in one shared pile you have to untangle afterward. You can also send to a saved list or view, which is easier when the same group gets messaged on a regular basis.
In the SMS History module, as a new entry linked to the record that replied, with nothing to copy across and no separate inbox to check. Because the history is attached to the record itself, anyone who picks up that account later can read the full exchange without asking around for context.
